Annual Population Movement of Matera from 1931 to the present day

Demographic Movement, to 31 December of each year, from 1931 complete with birth rates, mortality and general census data. Speaking of Census, it is good to draw a brief history of them. The first General Census of Population in Italy dates back to 1861, the year of the unification of the country in the Kingdom of Italy and the Italians were numbered 26 million and three hundred thousand. Since 1861, the census rounds have been held every 10 years with the exceptions of 1891, due to the financial difficulties faced by the country and in 1941 due to the 2nd world conflict. Another exception is the Census of 1936, carried out only 5 years after the previous one following a legislative reform of 1930 that had changed its periodicity, immediately after carried over ten years until 2011. Since 2018, the Censuses have become permanent and sampled, meaning that every year a sample of families different from that of the previous year is interviewed. The population recorded in our country exceeds 60 million.
