Dataset description

The CORINE Land Cover 2018 is the update of the previous version of the European Commission’s CORINE (Coordination of Information on the Environment) Programme. This update, coordinated by the European Environment Agency (EEA), is managed at national level by the Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale (ISPRA), and implemented for Valle d’Aosta by ARPA VdA. It consists of polygonal geometries organised into 44 classes of soil cover structured according to a four-tier hierarchy. The nominal scale of the product is 1:100,000. The indicative scale of photointerpretation, based on Sentinel 2 images and ancillary data is 1:20,000-1:40,000. The minimum cartographable unit is 25 ha.
