Dataset description

The dataset represents the spatial distributions (by grid step) of the indicators of the main air pollutants throughout the region.The data are the result of the application of a model system of chemical transformation, transport and dispersion of pollutants, developed by ARPA Piemonte in support of the institutional tasks of the Environment Directorate of the Piedmont Region in relation to (annual) evaluations of air quality in compliance with the provisions of Article 5 of Legislative Decree 155/2010. The concentration fields of pollutants, produced by the modelling system on an hourly basis, are aggregated temporally on an annual basis for the construction, on the calculation grid, of the indicators defined by Legislative Decree 155/2010. In detail, the annual average PM10 particulate matter (in microg/m³) — the number of days of exceedance of the limit value (50 microg/m³) and upper assessment thresholds (35 microg/m³) and lower (25 microg/m³) for the daily average of PM10; — percentile 90.41 of the daily distribution of PM10, corresponding to the 36th highest value; — the annual average of particulate matter PM2.5 (expressed microg/m³); — the annual average of total nitrogen oxides (in microg/m³); — the annual average of nitrogen dioxide (in microg/m³); — percentile 93.1 of the distribution of the daily maximum of the eight-hour moving average of ozone, corresponding to the 26th highest value; — number of exceedances of the long-term value of 120 microg/m³ for the daily maximum of the eight-hour moving average of ozone; — the 99.79 percentile of the hourly distribution of nitrogen dioxide, corresponding to the 19th highest value;
