Dataset description
The AVATAR Project — Alto Vicentino: Territorial Alliance for Network Actions aims to develop digital culture and new technological services for citizens, businesses, entities and public administration. The project was created with the aim of creating a system, capitalising on the many moments of confrontation and paths of collaboration and partnership between the public and private actors operating in the territory of Alto Vicentino.
Avatar is managed by the Municipality of Schio together with 11 other municipalities in Alto Vicentino (Isola Vicentina, Malo, Marano Vicentino, Monte di Malo, San Vito di Leguzzano, Santorso, Thiene, Torrebelvicino, Valdagno, Villaverla and Zugliano) for a total of about 155,000 inhabitants.
The objectives of the project:
Creating and disseminating an “Open Innovation Lab” (Innovation Lab) in Alto Vicentino as a place of meeting and active participation
Encourage a participatory approach to the creation, modernisation and deployment of digital public services, thanks also to P3@ — Digital Gyms
Spreading the culture and the use of opendata of public bodies between citizens and businesses, in order to encourage the participation of local communities in the life of local PP.AAs as well as to encourage businesses to develop new digital services also with the help of Open Data
Increase the number of citizens using the internet and increase their awareness of the potential of “digital” through the dissemination of Open Data culture
The scopes of AVATAR project intervention are five: training and education, socio-health, enterprise, third sector and public administration.
The Innovation Lab — Faber Box of the Municipality of Schio and the eleven P3@-Palestre Digital AVATAR are open and equipped places where all citizens can access free of charge and acquire all the basic skills of the digital world, as well as surf the internet carrying out the activities of their own interest and find assistance in the use of digital services offered by the Public Administration (for example: download medical reports, request regional school vouchers, pay the car stamp, etc.).
In the Innovation Lab — Faber Box and P3@ there are also meetings, paths, workshops, events and workshops on digital development, Regional Digital Agenda, e-democracy and digital governance, change management, digital transformation and opendata, as well as co-design and co-design of digital applications.
