Dataset description

A WMS (Web Map Service) is a service that produces spatially related maps of data from geographical information, and is a technical specification defined by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). This WMS presents the strata “mobility and transport” and “management of roads and addresses” of the Territorial Database of Reference of Bodies (BDTRE), structured according to national technical specifications (DPCM 10 November 2011), brings together information on mobility and transport of whatever nature they are.They represent here- Roads and related details, including both the infrastructures constituting the primary and the secondary roads, rail transport infrastructure and particulars thereof, including railways and metros, tramways, funiculars.- Other transport infrastructure and related particulars, including under this heading cableway transport (works, ski lifts, etc.), modes of transport by water (ferry, etc.), other transport facilities. It also presents data on the various points of view according to which the road infrastructure can be organised, i.e. the point of view of place names and the administrative point of view. The point of view of placenames is also functional to the integration into the Topographic Data Base of Accesses and Civic Numbers.The contents of this service are divided into the following levels corresponding to the BDTRE classes:- Roads- Railways- Other transport — Toponimi and civic numbers- Administration Roads Maps can be viewed via various software (e.g. QGIS)
