Dataset description

The LIFE AQUOR project (LIFE10/ENV/IT/380), with a work programme carried out from September 2011 to April 2015, has been conceived as a demonstration action to encourage the reversal of the current trend of overexploitation of groundwater resources and to increase the rate of hydrogeological recharge of aquifers, with the aim of rebalancing the groundwater of the Upper Vicentina Plain (Veneto Region) and to ensure its sustainable use by current and future generations. The initiative is based on the active involvement of stakeholders and aims to consolidate a shared commitment to the quantitative protection of one of Europe’s most important underground water assets. Among the monitoring actions of the AQUOR project, a study was carried out in the Province of Vicenza (action D4), aimed at the census and verification of the quality-quantitative status of the springs. The dataset shows the values of the chemical-physical parameters recorded during the census carried out in 2014 on active resurgents in the Province of Vicenza. Attributes and their meaning: N: Numerical code of the resurgence; Coord_x: X coordinate in Gauss Boaga Fuso Ovest reference system [m]; Coord_y: Y coordinate in Gauss Boaga Fuso Ovest reference system [m]; Date: Date of carrying out census activities in the resurgence; T_monte: Water temperature measured at the head of the resurgence [grades C]; pH_monte: pH water measured at the head of the resurgence; ORP_monte: Redox bridge measured at the head of the resurgence [mV]; EC_monte: Electrical conductivity measured at the head of the resurgence [uS/cm]; DO_monte: Dissolved oxygen concentration measured at the head of the resurgence [mg/l]; TORB_monte: Turbidity of water measured at the head of the spring [NTU]; T_valle: Water temperature measured along the resurgence rod [grade C]; pH_valley: pH water measured along the resurgence rod; ORP_valley: Redox potential measured along the resurgence rod [mV]; EC_valley: Electrical conductivity measured along the resurgence rod [uS/cm]; Do_valley: Dissolved oxygen concentration along the resurgence rod [mg/1]; TORB_valley: Water turbidity of the resurgence rod [NTU].
