The data were processed in 2000. The Dataset contains the hydrographic grid (surface and manhole) of the territory of the former Province of Milan, divided into different themes: main watercourses, secondary watercourses, fountains, etc. The patches in some cases are hypothetical. There is no large part of the irrigated net in the town of Milan both because it is completely drained and because the municipality itself manages the network. The data has a purely cognitive function and cannot be used for legal purposes. The findings were made on the basis of Regional Law 32/80 now repealed and replaced by Regional Law 26/03, as amended. With the adoption of Regional Decree No 7/7868 of 25 January 2002, as amended and supplemented, the powers to determine the water network were entrusted to the municipalities.
