Dataset description

The AQCLI service of the CLARA project provides an estimate of how climate change can affect air quality, especially regarding PM10 and Ozone. The estimate is representative of background urban concentrations and refers both to the present scenario and to the future scenario in an area of about 150X150 km² around the capital city of Bologna. The AQCLI service intends to answer the questions: how much will future climatic conditions affect the number of days in a year favourable to the accumulation of pollutants? Will the change be significant? And how will it depend on the different weather regimes? For the current and future climate scenario, a few years representative of typical weather conditions were selected: Cold Wet, Cold Dry, Neutral, Warm Dry, Warm Wet. For each municipality of the territory is shown a statistic of the days favorable to accumulation, in the form of a histogram or boxplot. Maps of the number of days conducive to the accumulation of pollutants are also shown for the entire study area. The viewer of the data provided is present at [this address](https://sdati.datamb.it/aqcli-vis/) The AQCLI service provides an assessment of how climate change will affect the air quality, especially for PM10 and O3 at the requested location. The assessment will be representative of urban background concentration. It will represent both present conditions and a future scenario. The study area is 150 km x 150 km centered on the area of Bologna. The service adresses the user questions about how much future climate conditions will affect the numbers of days per year, favorable to pollutant high concentrations. Will the variation be significant? How will you be the variation in different Metorological regimes? For present and future time five significant meteorological years are selected: Cold Wet, Cold Dry, Neutral, Warm Dry, Warm Wet. For each municipality a statistics of days favorable to pollutant are shown as histograms or boxplots. Maps of number of days favorable to pollutants are also shown.
