Dataset description

Paper made by the Province of Bologna through the photo interpretation of Flight Italy 2000. This cartography was updated until 2014 through the audit requests submitted by the local forestry bodies and approved by the Executive Body of the Province of Bologna. The Forest Charter identifies the forest areas present on the territory of the Province of Bologna. The areas identified by the card are: 1 — the forest areas as defined in the Prescriptions of Massima and the Forest Police of the Emilia-Romagna Region 2- specialised arboriculture from wood, poplars and fruit chestnut groves. The Charter describes according to the CORINE Code the forest communities present in the provincial territory and organises them according to a hierarchical classification from which it is possible to define the forest type based on characteristics: — Physiognomics (presence of groups of dominant species); — Structural (space distribution of vegetation); — cover (% of area covered by the projection of the foliage on the ground by the main and secondary species); — management (form of governance and treatment); — composition of the stands (identification of the prevailing species and, if present, of the secondary species)
