Cycling area

The longitudinal part of the road, duly delimited, reserved for the circulation of cycles.The cycle path may be carried out:a. on its own, single or double direction of travel, if its seat is physically separated from that relating to motor vehicles and pedestrians, through suitable longitudinal traffic divides physically insurmountable;b. on a reserved lane, obtained from the roadway, with a single direction of travel, it agrees with that of the adjacent lane intended for amateur vehicles and is normally located on the right side of the latter lane, where the separation element consists essentially of longitudinal strips or lane delimiters;c. on a reserved lane, obtained from the platform, with a single or double direction of travel, if the width allows them to be realised without prejudice to pedestrian traffic and is located on the side adjacent to the roadway.See Regulation laying down rules for the definition of the technical characteristics of cycle paths — DM 30/11/99 No 557 Definition of the Decree of 10 November 2011Technical rules for the definition of the content specifications of geotopographic databases (Official Gazette No 48 of 27/02/2012 — Ordinary Supplement No 37).
