Dataset description

According to Article 6 of Regional Law No 9/2005 on the protection of natural stable grassland, the Regional Administration codifies in a database the natural plain stable grasslands, including their biological and territorial information, as well as the cadastral data relating to individual stable grasslands. For the purposes of Regional Law 9/2005, natural stable grassland means herbaceous formations belonging to the types identified in Annex A to the Law. In the context of natural stable grassland, as defined in Article 2 of Regional Law No 9/2005, it includes: herbaceous formations which vegetate on soils which have not been ploughed or harped and are maintained solely by mowing and any fertilisation; the herbaceous formations which, although derived from previous cultivation, have the floristic composition of the types listed in Annex A(A) and (C) to this Law; grassland formations resulting from compensatory measures and reductions in pristine. Stable grassland included in the database may or may not fall within the scope defined by Article 3 of Regional Law No 9/2005: the lawns actually protected by Regional Law No 9/2005 and falling within the scope defined by Article 3 of Regional Law No 9/2005, which constitute the inventory of stable grasslands, are characterised by the field of the TutelaLR database valued at ‘Vero’ (value 1) and are represented on a map with a red colour. The inventory of stable grassland therefore represents a subset of the database.
