Dataset description

The water mirror class belongs to the theme “Internal and transitional waters”, of the Hydrography Layer, of the Regional Geotopographic Database (code 040102 — SP_ACQ), scale 1:5000, v. 2014. This is the representation of the surfaces covered by “steady water”. In particular in this class are included the following types of still water:- Lake- Pond- marsh/marsh- Laguna The surface of water is delimited by the boundary of the shore that can be natural, artificial or fictitious. The surface of permanent islands must be excluded from the surface of the body of water containing them.A body of water may be connected to the hydrographic grid in the presence of watercourses and/or emissaries, or not.In the case of lakes (in particular the large lakes), the surface of water is also characterised by the isolinea altimetrica corresponding to the ‘administrative share s.l.m.’ allocated to the lake itself.
