Dataset description

Structured class for storing the text and how it is possible to represent the text related to each instance of the DB that needs it: scale, language, text characterisation, etc... Each instance of the Topographic DB, may have several cartographic writings linked to it and for each writing more modes of graphic rendering depending on the scale of representation, the language with which the text must be written or the various representation requirements that lead to different characterisation of the text itself (character type, font style, size, color, etc.) as well as the map space where it will be placed (background color, background motif, background line style, etc...). It contains geometries of type Two-dimensional Line and Two-dimensional Surface, in particular there are three spatial attributes, one to indicate the segment where the inscription is set (two-dimensional line), the other to indicate the background polygon containing the inscription itself (two-dimensional surface) and finally the third to indicate the boundary or the minimum rectangle that completely contains the writing (bidimensional surface). While the segment where the writing and the background polygon are set are functional to the graphic rendering, the boundary rectangle allows to verify the containment (total or partial) of the inscription in the area of cartographic representation; this may be the sheet according to the required cuts or be completely independent of the cutting of the sheets.
