Dataset description

A water element means the representation of the water flow path — of a river/torrant (permanent and/or seasonal) or of a channel in one of the following cases: — from start to confluence — from confluence to confluence — from confluence to end — from start to end See: Example of branches of the course of a watercourse See: Example of confluence of streams — of a river/torrent or a canal within a body of water or an artificial reservoir See: Example of entry/emission from lake This line constitutes: — the centreline obtained by joining the midpoints of consecutive relief sections of the watercourses, if these are detected and available for the hydraulically controlled sections — the centreline of the wet area if the relief sections are not available — the path of the water if the wet area is not representative to measure — the centreline of the riverbed if the watercourse is dry and the relief sections are not available. The path generally connects the average points of the relief sections and, in the case of absence of wet area and relief sections, refers to the maximum depression points contained in the (natural or artificial) riverbed. The water element inherites from the riverbed which contains some attributes at times, such as the presence of waterfalls. The artificial lattice also shows the presence of transversal works such as dams, dams, locks, etc.
