The route is constructed through the orderly aggregation of “water elements” (in particular “River rods” as part of the drainage network of the corresponding river basin) that have continuity characteristics, except in cases where the underground path is not reconstructable, and towards homogeneous. Portions of the watercourse can be defined as secondary if they correspond to secondary branches of the same watercourse both at the beginning and at the end of the watercourse. Each natural watercourse may be associated with a point representing its origin; all reference points can be placed on the auction via the distance from this point (this is the case of the sections that are identified by this information.
