Dataset description

Collection of digital images that reproduce some cinematic posters preserved at the Mediateca Regionale Pugliese. It was born following the event “Cinema 150 anni”, exhibition of original vintage posters of films that in the 50s of the twentieth century dealt with the theme of the Risorgimento. The exhibition, set up in the spaces of the Bari Regional Media Library, was organised in 2011 by the Cultural and Audiovisual Activities Office, belonging to the Culture and Entertainment Service of the Puglia Region, on the occasion of the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy. The collection, digitised to preserve and preserve the state of conservation of the goods present, takes shape from the desire to make available a small part of the more than 33,000 assets among posters, volumes, video cassettes and audiovisual material, collected from 1980 to 2000 by the Cinema and Media Library of the Department of the Mediterranean, Culture and Tourism and today preserved at the Regional Media Library. The reproductions of the posters, organised graphically on special installations, were then exhibited in the cities of Lecce, Cavallino, Brindisi, Foggia, Barletta, Mola di Bari, Taranto, Bari Palese. The originals can be visited by reservation at the Mediateca
