Dataset description

The study [EDIT](https://www.ars.toscana.it/it/edit.html) stems from the need to improve knowledge on the possible causes of road accidents in order to detect those aspects of their lifestyles potentially at risk, primarily for road safety, but in general for their safety and health, thus investigating driving habits and road accidents, consumption of alcohol, consumption of psychotropic substances, smoking, body weight, bullying, sexual behavior, gambling, physical activity and eating habits. The survey was conducted by the Epidemiology sector of integrated social services of the Regional Health Agency of Tuscany, in the months between February and May 2005, 2008, 2011, 2013 and 2015 involving a sample of high school students in the region. To return sufficiently representative results at AUSL level, at least 400 subjects were selected for each territory, corresponding to 4 schools per AUSL. The institutions were extracted independently for each AUSL by variable probability sampling proportional to the student size of the AUSL itself. The algorithm used for the extraction of first stage units (schools) within the 12 layers (AUSL) is systematic. The sampling nature of the EDIT survey makes it necessary, during the data analysis phase, the application of a weight system in order to obtain representative results of the entire student population. Each detection unit is associated with a sample weight (variable name in the dataset: ‘weight’); to calculate the indicators, instead of counting units, it is therefore necessary to make a sum of the weights associated with the units.
