Dataset description

The data represent the area occupied by the Seveso plants registered in the regional register pursuant to l.r. 32/92. The area is enclosed within the perimeter of the surface owned by the operator and therefore includes, in addition to the production plants, all the other areas dedicated to ancillary services. The information is entered and managed in the SIAR — Information System Active at major accident risk. In addition to area georeferencing, the establishments are described by the following information: register, registered office, organizational structure, position in relation to Seveso legislation, administrative activity (documents sent: Notification, safety report, time-programme, risk increase, etc.), control activities (checks on the safety management system, technical investigations, verification of requirements and surveillance checks), substances held (physical state, quantity, etc.), incidental hypotheses (georeferencing, production area/plant, incidental type, generating substances, frequency of occurrence, incidental scenarios, damage areas — high lethality distance, distance lethality, etc. — centre of danger) and authorisation status with regard to fire prevention. There is also information on the existence of the establishment’s contingency plan specific to the aspect of industrial hazards. The area of ownership is declared by the managers of the plants and is loaded into the SIAR by the Piedmont Region.
