Flegrea Area Volcanic Risk Planning Zones (RNDT Dataset) — Version 2.0

On the basis of the pre-eruttive and eruptive scenarios contained in the Final Report of the Working Group responsible for defining the reference scenario for the Flegrei Fields emergency plan for volcanic risk, the two hazardous areas (red and yellow) of the National Emergency Plan for the Flegree area, for which different operational measures are foreseen, have been updated, in collaboration with and in full agreement with the Civil Protection Structure of the Campania Region. The new red zone includes the area with a high probability of invasion of pyroclastic flows to be evacuated precautionaryly in order to safeguard human lives from the effects of a possible eruption and the yellow zone is the area exposed to the fall of pyroclastic material and includes municipalities that fall for a significant part of their territory within the 300 kg/m² isocharic curve (equivalent to 30 cm of accumulation) with the probability of exceeding the load value (300 kg/m²) of 5 %.
