Dataset description

Cartography representing the delimitation of potentially unfathomable areas during extreme weather and sea events characterised by average probability (return time equal to 100 years) or infrequent events, as provided for by EU Directive 2007/60/EC Art. 6 — second cycle, in relation to the coastal area of the UoM Management Unit (ITN008), over which the District Basin Authority of the Po River is competent. The map information relates to the frequency and probability of the event, the danger, the origin, and the processes (weather-marine components) that generate the flood. The perimeters were produced using a model of geographic data analysis, made with reference to the methodologies indicated in Report T03-08-02 ‘Guidelines on Coastal Flood Hazard Mapping’ and operational in the GIS environment, also taking into account new knowledge, post-event monitoring data and more in-depth studies from 2013 onwards. The map does not take into account the presence of temporary works (e.g.: winter embankments) and the possibility of rupture of embankments at sea (residual risk).
