Dataset description

The cartography represents the elements potentially exposed to alluvial phenomena with polygonal geometry, relative to the territory of the Union of Management (UoM) district of the Po river (ITN008), in the portion falling within the Emilia-Romagna Region. It takes into account the macrocategories considered for the flood risk map, identifying — following the specifications of the Floods Directive — second cycle, Article 6 -, within floodable areas, the targets considered sensitive represented with polygonal geometry, expressed in terms of: economic and social activities that insist on the area, plants that could cause accidental pollution in the event of floods, strategic structures and infrastructures (cemeteries, technological installations (ref. Legislative Decree 59/2005 and Legislative Decree No 152/2006), port areas, sports areas, dams, camping sites, tourist facilities), urbanised areas (residential fabric), productive activities (industrial settlements, arable land, crops, bathing establishments), cultural heritage (wooden areas, parks, gardens, natural areas) etc. The data come from the most up-to-date databases available and from various sources that overall update and improve the accuracy of the data used in the first cycle of implementation of the Directive. The map of the elements displayed is represented according to the “macrocategory district” field and also has information about the damage classes (1-4 from moderate to very high).
