Dataset description

Cartography representing the delimitation of potentially floodable areas at extreme weather and sea events characterised by medium probability (return time equal to 100 years) or infrequent events, as provided for by EU Directive 2007/60/EC Art. 6 — second cycle, with regard to the coastal area of the UoM Union of Management (ITI021) Reno basin. The map information relates to the frequency and probability of the event, the danger, the origin, and the processes (weather-sea components) that generate the flood. The perimeters were produced using a model of analysis of geographical data, realised with reference to the methodologies indicated in Report T03-08-02 ‘Guidelines on Coastal Flood Hazard Mapping’ and operational in the GIS environment, taking into account also new knowledge, post event monitoring data and more in-depth studies from 2013 onwards. The map does not take into account the presence of temporary works (e.g.: winter embankments) and the eventual occurrence of rupture of the embankments at sea (residual risk).
