Dataset description

The map was drawn up in 1986 by the Forestry Corps of the State, in collaboration with the Province of Bologna, on 70 sections of the Regional Technical Cartography corresponding to the areas most occupied by forest areas in hilly, submontane and mountain areas of the Province of Bologna, all located south of the Via Emilia. The cartography was carried out following the enactment of Law No 431 of 8 August 1985 entitled “Conversion into law with amendments of the Decree Law of 27 June 1985, n. 312 concerning urgent provisions for the protection of areas of particular environmental interest” (Law of 8 August 1985, n. 431 entitled “Conversion into law with amendments to the Decree Law of 27 June 1985, n. 312 concerning urgent provisions for the protection of areas of particular environmental interest” (Gagge Galasso) and therefore it was necessary to know on the territory the location and the extension of the woodland by means of the infrastructure of the State’s territory. The Italian Government has been able to make it possible to protect the area from the main areas of conservation of the territory. The recovery work is described on the website https://www.cittametropolitana.bo.it/pianificazione/recupero_carta_forestale_1986
