Geological vector cartography of the Umbria Region
======================================================================================================================================
The geological vector cartography of the Umbria Region was completed in 2012 using the originals of the geological maps made on the scale 1:10.000 that the Geological and Seismic Service produced through several projects.
The need for coordination between geological maps also of different projects has sometimes required modifications to the originals of the geological maps in order to achieve a homogenisation of the geological elements.
The different information levels displayed in the form of points, lines and polygons representing:
— Geological mapable units and lithologies;
— Geomorphological and anthropic elements (e.g. terrace edges, anthropogenic reports);
— Structural elements (e.g. faults, anticlinal, sinclinal);
— Points of geological observations (e.g. layer deposits);
— Geological and geophysical tracings.
