Dataset description

__Survey: mobility of the future in South Tyrol__ From 30/04/2020 to 31/05/2020 all South Tyroleans aged 16 and over were able to participate, through a link, in this mobility survey. The survey focused on the future mobility behaviour of respondents and the measures they hoped for for tomorrow’s mobility. Current shifting habits, on the other hand, have played a marginal role due to lockdown. The aim of the survey was to learn more about the possible effects of the coronavirus on future mobility behaviors of South Tyroleans or their travel habits. The survey also intended to provide answers to the question of the direction in which South Tyrolean mobility is expected to develop in the future. It is important to note that the survey is not entirely representative. There have been distortions, particularly with regard to age and level of education. However, as far as linguistic groups and territorial distribution are concerned, the South Tyrolean population has been very well reflected. Key survey data: • 11,364 participants (corrected) • 2,555 open replies (after adjustment for data without content) • 28 questions and 45 detailed questions • One month long detection period (30.4.2020 @-@ 31.5.2020) Main results of the survey — How travel habits will change after the coronavirus: 42 % of respondents plan to use bicycles more often in the future 41 % of respondents want to walk more often 19 % of respondents want to drive more on their own 36 % of respondents intend to use less public transport — Wishes of the respondents for the mobility of the future: • 88 % express themselves for the extension of the network of bike paths • 87 % is expressed for the extension of pedestrian routes and barrier-free access • 85 % express themselves for the expansion of local public transport The survey was conducted by Green Mobility in collaboration with the Province of Bolzano.
