Dataset description

The geoservice presents the processing of data collected in Piedmont by the Regional Detection System for the measurement of air quality in the context of the report on the state of the environment. The indicators that have been taken into account are: nitrogen dioxide, the annual average of PM10, exceedances of the daily PM10 limit, daily exceedances of O3 and the annual average of benzo(a)pyrene in PM10.The set of indicators is available from 2009 onwards and one is calculated each year. In Piedmont, the Regional Detection System for the measurement of air quality consists, as of 30 September 2014, of:66 fixed stations for the continuous monitoring of chemical parameters, of which 6 are privately owned; 6 mobile laboratories equipped to carry out short monitoring campaigns; 7 Provincial Operating Centres (COPs), at which validation operations are carried out both of the data collected automatically and of the data produced in the laboratories of the Agency. The regional network in 2013 has been the subject of adjustments both in the location of some stations and in the instrumental equipment and therefore in some cases it was not possible to use the data produced because their percentage was lower than that needed to obtain a sufficient temporal representativeness. Further rationalisation of the stations and of the equipment installed are underway in order to make the network more and more adequate to what is required by national legislation. The punctual data produced by the detection network are available on the pages of the Sistemapiemonte website. For further information on the portal, reference to the environment is possible.
