Dataset description

The EHF (Excess Heat Factor) index allows you to assess the annual number of heat waves, the length of the longest event and the sum of the days on which a heat wave occurs at a given location. In the specific case the index was calculated for the city of Turin in the range 15 May — 15 September for the periods 2011-2040, 2041-2070 and 2071-2100 using as input data the average temperature simulations of the regional climate model COSMO-CLM (forced by the global model CMCC-CM, forced over the period 2006-2100 by the IPCC emission scenario Representative Concentration Pathways RCP4.5 (https://www.ipcc.ch/pdf/assessment-report/ar5/wg1/WG1AR5_SPM_FINAL.pdf), extracted on the grid point centered on the city of Turin.
