Dataset description

The geoservice is powered by a database derived from various information sources. The data in consultation are:- the results of the C.E.M monitoring from power lines.Measuring points carried out by ARPA of the low-frequency electric and magnetic field levels, generated by power lines. The measurements are carried out with inspections of operators equipped with portable instrumentation or through control units that detect the information continuously. The electric field level generated by a high voltage line remains approximately constant over time, so for each point the maximum measured electric field level is reported (if detected as significant). The magnetic field level varies over time, depending on the current in transit in the line. For this reason, for each point of the measurements before 2015, a maximum indication of a range of magnetic field levels where actual values fall within is given. For continuous measurements from 2015 the median maximum value is reported on 24 hours of the magnetic field, while for spot measurements from 2015, the value of instant magnetic field is reported. More detailed information on temporal variability and actual measured values is available on request at [email protected]. Information shall also be provided on the date and common where the measure was carried out and (where available) on the code of the electricity line to which the measure relates. The measures are divided into: — Spot measures since 2015 — Continuous measures since 2015 — Measures prior to 2015 (spots and A.T. lines)- the areas of influence of the magnetic field from electricity pipelinesArpa Piemonte provides technical support and carries out verification activities on the assessment of the respect bands of the power lines, within the framework defined by L36/2001, the Prime Ministerial Decree of 08/07/2003 and the Prime Ministerial Decree 29/05/2008. The respect bands are those volumes around the conductors of the line, outside of which compliance with the magnetic field quality target (3 µT) is ensured. The design of new settlements (or change of use) with possible prolonged stay of persons in the vicinity of existing power lines must be done outside the line of respect of the power line. Under all the above provisions, the operators of power lines are to provide the competent authorities, and in particular to the municipality, with the width of those bands, so that it integrates them into urban planning tools. The role of Arpa, as the technical body in charge of the control activity, is to verify what is provided by the operator. The rule also provides that, in the first instance, the first approximation distance (Dpa) is to be calculated, i.e. that ‘distance, on a plan at ground level, from the projection of the line centre which ensures that any point whose projection on the ground is more than Dpa’s projection of the line centre is outside the respect bands’. In practice, for building outside the corridor defined by the DPA, no further verification is required, while for building inside the corridor, it is necessary to verify that the height of the building is such as to keep it outside the volume of the respect band, that is to say, that volume around the conductors outside which the quality objective is respected. This service contains a general indication of the corridors defined in the territory, taking into account the DPAs of the high and very high voltage lines, either taken individually or considering the overlap of the magnetic field in the presence of two or more lines. — the development of the power lines with the criticality score of the municipalities which gives an indication of the density and the number of km of electricity pipelines for each municipality of Piedmont (the length of the power lines passing through the inhabited areas of each municipality of Piedmont is calculated).- Population exposed to the magnetic field by high voltage lines: indication of the number of persons exposed to the magnetic field generated by high voltage lines, classified by exposure level (non-significant, limited, medium, high exposure)
