Dataset description

The LIFE AQUOR project (LIFE10/ENV/IT/380), with a work programme carried out from September 2011 to April 2015, has been conceived as a demonstration action to encourage the reversal of the current trend of overexploitation of groundwater resources and to increase the rate of hydrogeological recharge of aquifers, with the aim of rebalancing the groundwater of the Upper Vicentina Plain (Veneto Region) and to ensure its sustainable use by current and future generations. The initiative is based on the active involvement of stakeholders and aims to consolidate a shared commitment to the quantitative protection of one of Europe’s most important underground water assets. Among the actions of the AQUOR project was carried out a study by A.R.P.A.V., aimed at analysing the pedology of the area of the Upper Vicentina Plain. The dataset shows for each outline of the soil map, the soil parameters of the dominant typological unit, its vocation index for the different soil sections and for the soil as a whole, the presence of any secondary soils and their vocation index. Attributes and their meaning: ID: Delineation identifier; DISTRICT: Soil district; SOVRAUDP: Over-units of landscape; UDP: Landscape unit; AQUOR_UC: Cartographic unit; UTS_DOM: Abbreviation of the dominant frequency type unit; PROF_UT: useful depth [cm] of the dominant typological unit; DREN: drainage class of the dominant type unit; PERM_CL: permeability class of the dominant typological unit; KS0_50: KS [mm/h] of the 0-50 cm layer of the dominant type unit; PERM0_50: permeability class of the 0-50 cm layer of the dominant type unit; KS50_100: KS [mm/h] of the 50-100 cm layer of the dominant type unit; PERM50_100: permeability class of the 50-100 cm layer of the dominant type unit; KS100_150: KS [mm/h] of the 100-150 cm layer of the dominant type unit; PERM100_150: permeability class of the 100-150 cm layer of the dominant type unit; I_0_50: infiltrability index of the 0-50 cm layer of the dominant type unit; I_50_100: infiltrability index of the 50-100 cm layer of the dominant type unit; I_100_150: infiltrability index of the 100-150 cm layer of the dominant type unit; ITOT_0_150: final infiltrability index (considered section 0-150 cm) referring to the dominant type unit; ITOT_50_150: final infiltrability index (excluding the surface layer, section 50-150 cm) referring to the dominant type unit; UTS2: Abbreviation of the secondary type unit; UTS2_perc: percentage of presence of the secondary type unit; UTS2I0_150: final infiltrability index (considered section 0-150 cm) referring to the secondary type unit; UTS2I50150: final infiltrability index (excluding the surface layer, section 50-150 cm) referring to the secondary type unit.
