Dataset description

Vector-type geo-referenced database containing the events of hydrocarbons collected in the early decades of the last century by Agip geologists with a specific symbology, both directly and via the relevant bibliographical reports. The total number of events surveyed was 1004; Many of these (809) are illustrated in factsheets in an internal technical report by Eni SpA (Moscow L.; 1983: Hydrocarbon events in the Emilia-Romagna region. ENI S.p.A., S. Donato Milanese, Italy, Internal Technical Report, Vol. 2, 691 pp.), the remaining 195 (of which 70 immediately outside the regional boundaries) are documented only by means of their location and type, as shown on maps contained in the above-mentioned report. SGSS geologists analysed and synthesised in a geographical database the information in the factsheets and maps; The online publication of this database has been agreed with ENI. The events were grouped into twelve categories (field name: Typo_summary): Running water with gas (30), salt water and hydrocarbons (9 + 41 = 50), gas (55 + 154 = 209), water well gas (145), drilling gas (79 + 139 = 218), gas and oil (9 + 89 = 98), drilling gas and oil (1 + 29 = 30), surface gas (29), oil (37 + 91 = 128), drilling oil (3 + 7 = 10), exploratory wells (30), hydrocarbon and 2. The numbers in italics indicate the points for which, given the fact that a fiche is present, additional information may be available compared to the type of event only. This information may be: A more accurate description of the type of event (field name: Tipo_total), the depth of the wells (field name: Prof), the date on which the event was detected or reported (field name: Data_min), whether or not the signal is derived from the drilling of a hydrocarbon well (field name: Pz_idroc), details of topographical reference (field name: Altri_rife), the original well name (field name: Number of wells), annotation of various types (field name: Note_1), the depth interval at which the event was found (field name: Range).
