Dataset description

The data on the monitoring of species and habitats of Community interest represent the compliance of the Piedmont Region with the provisions of Article 17 of Directive 92/43/EEC “Habitat”, according to which Member States must report every 6 years the conservation status of the species and habitats included in the Annexes to the Directive, and therefore deserving of protection, present in their territory. The data refer to the presence of species and habitats both within Natura 2000 sites (SCIs and SPAs) and outside and, for some of them, information is also available on the size of populations and the territorial coverage occupied respectively. They are also associated with the assessment carried out by the Ministry of the Environment on the state of conservation and the trend of each species and habitat, however, referring to the entire biogeographical region and not to the individual regional body. The data refer to the 2013 marketing year.
