Dataset description

Km4City (http://www.km4city.org ) (knowledge model for the city) is a big data smart city solution aimed at improving the quality of life by enabling the creation of innovative services, for mobility, safety, tourism, reduction of consumption and costs, and improving the ability of people and the city to react to unforeseen adverse events. These ambitious goals can be achieved by creating services using artificial intelligence algorithms based on data in our cities. Not only open data, but also those of transport operators, trade, tourism, cultural heritage, education, weather, environment; those that can come from sensors in the city (IOT, Internet of Things), social media, and citizens themselves through Apps and participation systems. In addition to static data that does not change over time, or that rarely changes there are dynamic data (real time) that produce continuous flows of information. These are the ones that arouse the most interest in end-users as they allow you to have real-time information, predictions and deductions. For example, with the status and predictions on parking, traffic, consumption, environment, etc. On this basis, solutions are developed for the early detection of critical events. Km4City was born in 2013 as ontology for smart cities, later the solution was adopted as a basis for the development of tools and projects such as Sii-Mobility smart city national mobility and transport, RESOLUTE H2020, and REPLICATE H2020 of the European Commission. At the moment Km4City as a knowledge base to services of various projects I understand with its data all over Tuscany in terms of road information, points of interest (culture, tourism, accommodation, catering, education, commerce, tourism, etc.. about 300,000 POI classified in 530 categories), public transport services (by 16 operators), petrol, information on the triage of hospitals, traffic flows from about 800 sensors, parking about 200, parking, environment, etc., and social media via TwitterVigilance (http://www.disit.org/tv ), more than one million new complex data per day. The main problems that have been addressed and resolved are related to the management of the complexity of the acquisition of heterogeneous data (different sources, protocols, standards, formats, etc.), to the volumes of this data that come continuously from the city and the Apps, to their quality and discontinuity; in this way, configuring the smart city problem in the Big Data space. The lack of interoperability and limited data quality are managed in Km4City through data mining tools to aggregate data and correct problems within acceptable parameters [http://www.disit.org/6506 ]. On the basis of knowledge Km4City are then implemented various algorithms of analytic data that are based on artificial intelligence and statistics for the production in real time of predictions, suggestions, stimuli towards citizens, and suggestions towards public decision-makers. Therefore, it is essential to be able to: Collect data, information and comments also from the city’s users via social media, and via the Apps. Provide information to support decisions by keeping the state of the city under control. To this end, control and synthesis visualisation structures have been developed to put appropriate dashboards (http://www.km4city.org/controlroomtools.html ), for mobile, totem, and Control Room in front of the public decision-makers and city users. Among the most interesting dashboards are those showing the status of mobility services, parking, flows of vehicles and people, events, destination maps, social media events (http://www.disit.org/tv ), and the correlations between this information. • To provide suggestions to city users for informal purposes, to stimulate them towards sustainable behaviour, to alert them to the arrival of critical situations. • Make available for APPs (mobile and web, but also to other systems, for example the app “Tuscany Where What” on all stores http://www.km4city.org ) through Smart City API the fundamental elements to produce services and value in the territory. For example, by operators working on the city such as: museums, tourist agencies, transport operators, car and bike sharing operators, event organisers, commercial activities, etc. [http://www.disit.org/6597 ].
