Land Use Charter 2003 1: 25.000 — Table 201 SE Modena — Edition 2005

The Region has promoted the implementation of the third edition of the land use map as one of the fundamental foundations for regional and sub-regional planning choices. This map has been completely redrafted from previous editions and is structured on four levels: The first three were set in accordance with the Corine European directives, while the fourth level gave great prominence to regional particularities. The legend is very detailed and includes over eighty items. The minimum area represented, chosen in relation to the twenty-five thousand reference scale, is one and a half hectares. The ‘Quickbird’ satellite images, acquired throughout the region, have been used to produce the new land use map. Current deployment technologies, consisting of the interpretation and return to videos of previously orthorectified and geo-referenced satellite images, have provided a considerable degree of precision that could not be achieved in the past. The database consists of an ARC/INFO ‘coverage’ covering the entire regional territory. The data structure allows the management of the four levels of tematism and allows the construction of a multi-scale Geodatabase of the entire regional land use.
