Dataset description

The LIM is a synthetic pollution index introduced by Legislative Decree 152/99. It can be represented in five levels (1=excellent; 5 = bad). The LIM is a numerical value derived from the sum of the values corresponding to the 75 percentile of the parameters indicated in Table 7 of Legislative Decree 152/99 and as amended. The 75 percentile is calculated on the basis of the results of sampling analyses carried out over a year. The calculation was made on the basis of Annex 1 to that decree, i.e. using seven parameters. Based on the result of this calculation, a score is awarded to each parameter.
