Dataset description

The baseline corresponds to the low tide line along the coast, in particular it is called “normal baseline” (normal baseline) the low tide line along the coast as indicated on the large scale charts officially recognised by the coastal State (Article 5 Montego Bay Convention), while in places where the coastline is deeply hollowed and jagged, or there is a fringe of islands along the coast in its immediate vicinity, the method of “straight baselines” which connect appropriate points can be used, the Convention (Article 7) indicates specific criteria for drawing the baseline along the coastline.
