Magic Sheet 20 Sisyphus-Enarete — Map (OpenData)

The sheet is located in the southern Tyrrhenian Sea, north of the northern coast of Sicily. The sheet includes the western part of the volcanic apparatus of Eolo, the volcanic apparatus of Enarete, Enaretino and Sisyphus.The building of Enarete is slightly elongated according to the Northeast-Southwest axis and has a northern slope with erosive grooves and ridges that are the result of gravitative flows that from the summit areas of the volcano are channeled towards the Enarete basin. The western, eastern and southern slopes show no evidence of sedimentary dynamics and are characterised by crests of volcanic origin. An escarpment with an elevation of 250 m, corresponding to a stretching fault north-south, represents the western edge of the Enarete basin and connects the Enarete building with that of Sisyphus. Other faults heading Northeast-Southwest cut off the southern and western escarpment of the Sisyphus volcanic building. An important aspect in terms of geological hazard is the potential activity of the volcanic apparatuses of Eolo, Enarete and Enaretino, although currently their eruptive potential has not yet been verified.There are 5 critical points (volcanic apparatus, lava flow, fault).
