Dataset description

It represents the distribution in the subsoil (90-140 cm deep) of the lead content in agricultural soils. This depth is considered representative of the natural background content (‘pedo-geochemical content’ according to ISO/DIS 19258, 2005). Cartographic units are represented by groups of polygons belonging to increasing concentration classes. The factors that regulate the natural content of metals in soils are: origin of the sediment in which the soil was formed, weaving, and evolutionary degree. As far as lead is concerned, the dominant factor is the origin of the sediment linked to the presence of volcanic rocks in the river basin and the secondary factor is the evolutionary degree of soils. In our region the volcanic rocks present do not affect the concentration values of lead in the soils, a weak variability is observed in a non-statistically significant way with the evolutionary degree of soils.
