Dataset description

Meteomont is the service for nivological and avalanche forecasting, offered by Alpine Troop Command for the Alpine arc, CC Forestry Command for the Apennine ridge, Regional Forestry Corps of Sicily (on Etna and island reliefs).These bodies manage a network of stations that consists of about 100 automatic fixed mountain stations and numerous other complementary itinerant stations and in addition consists of manual stations. The service provides a summary of mountain weather forecasts for the Alpine sector and the Meteomont Weather Bulletin in collaboration with the Air Force.
