Official Register of Professional Operators — RUOP (formerly Official Register of Producers — RUP)

The RUOP is a national register (RUOP) of professional operators (OPs) established by Regulation (EU) 2016/2031 and held by the Regional Phytosanitary Services. As of 14 December 2019, RUOP replaces the Official Register of Producers (RUP) provided for in the previous phytosanitary legislation. Registration for RUOP is unique in the national territory, the registration number includes the two-letter code established by the ISO standard for the Italian State (IT), the ISTAT code of the Region where the registered office of the Operator is located, plus a 4-digit number automatically assigned at the time of registration. Professional operator (PO) means a person who carries out on a professional basis one or more activities of planting, reproduction, production, cultivation, multiplication, making available on the market, storage and movement within the territory of the Union and third countries of plants, parts of plants, plant products and other objects and is legally responsible for it.
