Dataset description

The regional list of organic farming operators is prepared by the Piedmont Region on the basis of the information registered on the Information System by companies, verified by competent local officials and synchronised with what is present in the National Information System of Biological. Legislative Decree No 220 of 17 March 1995 ‘Implementation of Articles 8 and 9 of Regulation (EEC) No 2092/91 on organic agricultural and agri-food production’ and Regional Law No 13 of 25 June 1999 ‘Rules for the development of organic farming’, recently repealed, govern the establishment and publication of the list, which contains operators declared fit on 31 December each year. For the decoding of the fields ATTIVITAPRATICATA and CODICEODC see respectively the published datasets “Operators of organic farming — coding activity practiced” and “Operators of organic farming — Coding Control Body (COC)”. For some years the list of Italian organic operators has been published on the portal of the National Agricultural Information System (SIAN). This list is constantly updated on the basis of notifications deemed valid by the Control Bodies, the Regions and the PAAA and the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policy in the Organic Information System (SIB).
