Dataset description

The hydrographic basin of the Màzzaro River and the territorial area between the basin of FiumeMàzzaro and the basin of the Arena River are located in the extreme western part of Sicily and occupy a total area of about 130 km². The area under examination has an elongated shape in the NNE-SSW direction and has a larger portion in the central part; the basins and territorial areas with which it borders are, proceeding clockwise, the seguenti:nel sector- Arena Basin in the western sector- Area between the basin of the Birgi River and the basin of the Màzzaro River — Birgi River Basin In the southern sector the area under consideration is bordered by the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. The territory in the studio develops in the extreme western part of Sicily, in an area characterised essentially by a vast coastal plain, affecting, from an administrative point, the territory of the province of Trapani and, in particular, the territories of three municipalities (Marsala, Mazara del Vallo, Salemi). Of these municipalities, only the eastern portion of the town of Mazara del Vallo falls within the area of interest. From the north-eastern end, proceeding clockwise, the watershed of the watershed of the Màzzaro River and the territorial area between the basin of the Màzzaro River and the basin of the Arena River follows the top of M. Polizzo (712 m.a.s.l.), then continues, NE — SW, in the Inferno and Sanagia districts up to the top of M. Posillesi (516 m.a.s.l.), from Timpone Torretta (270 m a.s.l.), crosses the Torrettella district towards the Timponedel Gesso (229 m a.s.l.), the Timpone Vanidotti (220 m a.s.l.), M. Porticato (235 m a.s.l.), Colle Aquila (228 m above sea level). From here it continues towards the Mediterranean coast through Lippone, Sancilio, Bucari, Ciantrato, Spataro, Samaritana, Sant’Elia and Santa Maria. The watershed follows the west coast to the west pier of the port of Mazara delVallo. From here, it continues towards the hinterland with a direction almost parallel to the trend of the Màzzaro River, first, and the Iudeo torrent and Fosso Ronchibilotto later, passing through the lacy of M. Alberaccio (511 m above sea level), Portella grangi and close on the top of M. Polizzo. The maximum altitude is represented by the top of M. Polizzo (712 m a.s.l.), northeastern sulpartique.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- digital format (.pdf) 1.1) BAC-053 REPORT.pdf 1.2) 20170421_143_da053_a056_Report.pdf (Update related to D.P.R.
