Placenames and Civic Numbers

This theme defines the organisation of the municipal roadway, with its place name.The concepts on which the structure of this layer is based are:- road name, derived from the definition of traffic area that is every space (square, apron, street, avenue, lane, wide, similar streets) of the public or open to the public intended for the road which by regulation must have its own name-access, deriving from the rule that the doors and other accesses from the traffic area within buildings of any kind must be provided with specific numbers; the obligation of numbering also extends internally to the buildings for accesses they enter into dwellings or in environments intended for the exercise of professional, commercial and similar activities.The real methods of assigning civic numbering may currently depend on the practices of the various local realities and it is therefore the aim of this specification to provide a sufficiently general definition that is applicable in all possible situations.In the case, for example, of a settlement composed of a condominium building with a common entrance behind the street front, with an appropriate fenced discovery area and with shops on the ground floor on the front-road, there will be, according to the indications and definitions of the regulation, an indirect access to the street entrance, directly connected to the entrance to the building, through the entrance to the entrance to the shop.
