Po Basin, coastline, rare flood hazard L-P1

Cartography represents the delimitation of areas potentially unfathomable during extreme weather and sea events characterised by probability (return time greater than 100 years) as provided for by EU Directive 2007/60/EC Art. 6, with regard to the coastal area of the Unit of Management UoM (ITN008), over which the Po Basin Authority is competent. The preparation does not take into account the presence of temporary defence measures, such as winter banks and movable bulkheads, since these are not real structural works, but tools used by municipalities and private individuals for risk management. They are put in place in the winter period, to reduce the damage caused by the storms.
