Population: intercensual reconstruction of the natural and migratory movement 2011-2011

On 26 September 2013, Istat released the inter-censuary reconstruction of the main demographic flows for all the municipalities of Italy. As stated by Istat, it is based on the evidence provided by the last Census, together with a comparative examination with the demographic flows (births, deaths, migrations) that occurred during the same period. It therefore aims to improve both population statistics — in terms of size, structural composition and demographic events — as well as statistical indicators which cannot disregard their use. The dataset shows, for the Municipality of Milan, the population balance sheets reconstructed for each time interval between 22 October 2001 and 9 October 2011. The budgets include stock measures, relating to the size of the population at the beginning and end of each range, and measures of the demographic movement, i.e. births, deaths, internal immigration and emigrations, immigration and foreign migrations, acquisitions of Italian citizenship.
