In the context of the preparation of the contents relating to the statutory part of the PPR were recognised as further contexts, in reference to the areas of archaeological interest referred to in Article 142 of the Code, some sections of the Roman road and centuriale structure still easily recognizable in the territory that have been preserved over time and have conditioned until today the land organisation, the road network and the settlement mesh. The areas, selected on the basis of sources for their potential landscape value, were subject to field audits and inspections. In these areas there are still significant matrices of the Roman land preparation system due to different planning (centuriations: “classical” of Aquileia; classic of Forum Iulii; So-called “North-South” of Tricesimo; of San Daniele; of Manzano; of Concordia).
