Dataset description

The figure is an update of the one in the Ppr tables P2 and P4 approved, as it contains the changes introduced with subsequent RDIs.The linear data identifies as water bodies the following elements: ‘river’ means a stream with perennial current, which flows predominantly on the surface but which may be partially underground; ‘torrent’ means a temporary or intermittent or ephemeral course of water subject to periods of total dryness or stretches of the river bed (characterised by significant variations in regime, with periods of swollen and impetuous flow and others when it is almost completely dry); ‘water course’ means a water body characterised simply by the flow of waters in motion, the flowing waters of which are smaller. For the purposes of the protection, all water bodies included in the lists provided for by Royal Decree No 1775 of 11 December 1933 and all rivers and streams, even if not included in the above-mentioned list, are considered to be recognised by name in the official regional cartography. The water bodies called “river” or “torrente” are subject to landscape protection for their entire route, regardless of the section indicated in the lists provided for in R.D. 1775/1933. On the other hand, all the other waterways are protected at the same section as indicated in the above lists, although the PPR represents the entire route in cartography; the section actually subject to protection will be specified during the adaptation of the urban planning instrument to the Ppr.The water bodies in Table P2 correspond to those in Table P4.
