PPR — Territories covered by forests and forests

For the purpose of reconnaissance of land covered by forests and woods referred to in Article 142(1)(g) of Decree 42/2004, the definition of wood in Article 6 of Regional Law No 9/2007 shall apply, with the exclusion of areas not considered as woodland listed in Article 7 of that Regional Law; For the purposes of the requirements from use (specific legislation for landscape purposes) forest types (categories) are used, with the exception of Neocolonisations and mughete. The stratum constitutes the updated collection of the geometries of the forest areas distinguished by type and located in the territory of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. Most of these areas are occupied by forests as defined by the Regional Forest Law (No.9/2007). The geometries come from two different geodatabases: “Types Forestali 1998”, updated in 2010 and “Completion of the GIS of the Forest Types of Friuli Venezia Giulia” carried out in 2011 and validated definitively in 2013. Production process: The delimitation of typological units has been defined as follows: for the mountainous area (field DB_ORIG = “TipiFor_2010”) initially vectorising and structuring with MapInfo the data of the existing technical cartography; subsequently (2009-2010) the external perimeter of the forest areas was updated on the basis of the 2007 flight orthophoto; for the remaining area, the project “Completion of Forest Types” was approved in 2011 divided into four lots, each entrusted to an external professional, which provided for the geometric and typological verification in the countryside of the areas previously demarcated with GIS application on the basis of the most recent orthophoto (Campo DB_ORIG = “BoscPlan_2011”). In the first months of 2014, ontological, geographical and topological checks were carried out and some related corrections were made.
