Dataset description

The stratum contains general data relating to the reconnaissance of the Additional Contexts of the Areas of Archaeological Interest (areas subject to restrictions pursuant to Article 142(1)(m) of Legislative Decree 42/2004) carried out in the context of the joint elaboration of the Landscape Plan of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. Areas of archaeological interest are those areas where there are emerging archaeological assets, punctual or linear, object of excavation or still buried, whose character derives from the intrinsic link between the archaeological remains and their landscape context of storage, and therefore from the coexistence of cultural, natural, morphological and aesthetic values. The data were processed thanks to field inspections starting from the archive of the constraints of the Soprintendenza Archeologia del Friuli Venezia Giulia and from the data contained therein. The layer represents a reconnaissance and will be the subject of progressive integrations as the process of verification and adaptation of the plan progresses. Some objects in this informative layer may seem duplicated or overlapped. This stems from the original data indicating two different protection measures on the same areas. This has been done in order to keep track of the historical evolution of the interventions of protection V — Area of archaeological interest already under protection; AV — Protection of Archaeological Interest Zones — is classified as an additional context within the PPR; U — Archaeological Heritage — is classified as an additional context within the PPR; Au — Archaeological Heritage protection — is classified as an additional context within the PPR; D — Archaeological State Property
