Public Institutions: number of institutions and staff by legal form and Ateco code

The dataset contains information on public institutions collected with the 2011 Census of Industry and Services. Public institutions are legal-economic units whose main function is to produce non-market goods and services and/or to redistribute income and wealth and whose main resources are compulsory levies from households, enterprises and non-profit institutions or non-profit transfers received from other government institutions. The variables found concern the number of institutions and staff (employees, external workers, temporary workers and volunteers) by legal form and Ateco 2007 code. In particular, external employees and other non-standard workers are understood as outsiders.
