Dataset description

In this dataset are represented the tombs of the territory of the municipality of Bologna. The City’s Climate Change Adaptation Plan highlighted the main fragilities of the city’s water system: quality and quantity understood as both scarcity and abundance. The extension of periods of absence of rain double impacts on a water system that is deeply artificial, lacking springs and therefore characterised by scarce natural flows and widespread interference with the city sewer system. The primary objective is therefore to reduce the abstraction of natural water resources in order to maintain as much as possible in the riverbed the natural flow rates and return to the water bodies their original nature, by separating the water to deliver the black water to purification and to leave in the riverbed the white waters coming from the mountain. The increase in the frequency of days with intense rainfall, another aspect highlighted in the analysis of the local climate profile, determines the need for the Urban Plan also to pay particular attention to reducing the vulnerability and exposure of the population and property to hydraulic and flooding risk.
